Easy split pea and ham soup that involves no chopping, dicing or mincing!

  1. Rinse and drain peas. In a large pot, place peas and water. Bring to a boil stirring occasionally. Once boil is reached cover and lower to simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally. After 2 hours add remaining ingredients bring back to a boil, then simmer for 30 minutes. Salt and pepper to taste prior to serving. If soup is too thick add water 1/2 cup at a time to thin.
